[Xastir] Xastir & Weather alerts

Hey Curt -

Thanks for the response. My Xastir was checked out of CVS only 3 or 4 days
ago. A lot of the files currently referenced in the get-NWSdata script are
outdated at this point, and at least the first two could not even be
downloaded successfully. I ended up pulling the files manually to make sure
I got the current data. The files starting with w,z,mz,fz, and c all appear
to have been updated last month, and some of them will have new updates next
month as well. I could probably whip up a quick patch to this file to fix
them, if you'd like. That was actually my first thought as to why things
were not working - I thought that maybe Xastir's code looked for
specifically named files in the Counties directory - but a grep of the
source code pretty much told me that was not the case. Now I know that your
WX server is offline, that probably explains why I'm not getting anything
currently, so I'll wait until you get it back up and online, and see what
happens.

Thanks for the response, and let me know if you'd like me to whip up a patch
for the fetch script to make it grab the current files - that's well within
my capabilities!

Jeremy, NQ0M

What version of Xastir? It has to be reasonably up-to-date to fetch the
latest NWS weather alerts via the script, and to know how to display them.

Also: The weather server that I run is down right now. It is being rebuilt
and may be back on in a week or so. It fills in the alerts that the other
weather server run by another doesn't do.
