[Xastir] droid fonts

On CentOS 6:

[ configure EPEL repo ]
$ sudo yum install google-droid-sans-fonts
google-droid-sans-mono-fonts google-droid-serif-fonts
$ cd /usr/share/fonts/google-droid
$ sudo mkfontdir $PWD
$ sudo mkfontscale $PWD
$ xset fp+ $PWD
$ xset fp rehash

In return for your efforts you will get a mediocre-at-best font in a
single size. Looks like CentOS 6 general X server support for truetype
fonts is, ahem, lacking.

No luck with the pi so far, but not sure I'll bother to go further.

rhetorical question: why is bringing up xastir with a pile of
shapefile maps faster than bringing up xfontsel on the pi?
