And Joel, there was a hint earlier on that may have saved a lot of 
'kerfuffle'.
Be always aware that Linux is case-sensitive: 'Xastir' is different to 
(differs from - ain't English wonderful?) 'xastir', and occurs only in 
the ~/src directory..
