Message-ID: There's someone local to me who has started spamming bulletins, and while the "right thing" might be to ask them to knock it off I don't feel like being confrontational and am happier to just add them to my killfile. I've used a '-b/CALL*' prefix on my aprs-is connection, but some of the packets seem to come in over RF and will still be showing up; is there a simple way to get Xastir to ignore packets in some way? I think the answer is no but wanted to ask Greater Minds before I give up and resign myself to putting the APRS system's display to sleep every five minutes when they send another one. -- Steve Huston, W2SRH - https://srhuston.net ?And no one sings me lullabies, and no one makes me close my eyes, and so I throw the windows wide and call to you across the sky.? - Pink Floyd, ?Echoes? Xastir has no notion of a block list for RF. There *is*, however, a way to turn off the "pop up new bulletins" feature. Look under File->Configure->Defaults. That might be enough to take the edge off the annoyance. You'll be throwing away the baby with the bathwater, but in my area bulletins are rarely used for useful stuff, and mostly just reflect people playing around with software or spamming useless info. Your only other recourse is to ask the sender to tone it down. One doesn't have to be confrontational about it, just pointing out the effect they're having on you should be enough. Perhaps there are other APRS users in your area who are equally irritated at the noise who can back you up? -- Tom Russo KM5VY Tijeras, NM echo "prpv_a'rfg_cnf_har_cvcr" | sed -e 's/_/ /g' | tr [a-m][n-z] [n-z][a-m]
