I would have to agree about releasing a "stable" version, as many
distro's will only include this in a release.  If the latest mapping
functions are working as advertised, and they seem to be from my end, I
think it's a good idea.

In keeping with the versioning (is that a word? :) ) scheme that we've
been using in the past; major.minor.revision, I think there has been
sufficient functionality to at the very least bump the minor version
number.

Having said that, let's clean up the code that we have (map choosing,
etc.,) and branch this.  If there are any users that would consider
taking on building binaries (rpm/deb), this would be an excellent time
to do this as well.

I hope that all of you have a great holiday season and it has been a
pleasure working with all of you over the past year.  Without a doubt, I
think that Xastir is becoming the benchmark of APRS clients (for any
OS).
