Actually, it does do a shortest path thing, but, what it doesn't show you is
that the "shortest" is defined in a combination of distance*cost, where cost
of a small road is high, while cost of a freeway is low.  The Toyota (Lexus)
navigation system in my car has three classes of roads and allows me to
define costs for each of them.  The UI obscures this somewhat by calling it
"Average Speed" and inverting those numbers into costs, but, the end result
is the same.
