REQUIREMENT: GUI supports multiple map windows or multiple, independent
instances.
USE-CASE: When operating an event or SAR instance, tracking multiple,
and independent areas may be required. A single large map with
restricted resolution requires zoom and restore actions to be able to
determine where units are. Several maps with independent zoom and
update would allow better situational awareness and control.

This from the APRS sig:
The only feature I wish Xastir had was one of multiple map
windows in the same instance of the program. In WinAPRS that is a great
feature, being able to have multiple maps open with specific tracks of
units or areas of interest that you can jump to by hitting a function
key. It works nice to hook a specific map window to a mobile object and
set that map to track that unit. At close in zoom levels just that map
redraws while all other map windows stay as you set them.
