I agree about wikis getting stale, but it's useful to have a
definitive "spec" somewhere, and using a wiki avoids having only one
person as "Keeper of the Document".
As a compromise, how about: discuss stuff here, and when agreement is
reached on a point, it goes on the wiki page (along with a reason why
it got there, perhaps?). That way, we keep the discussion fluid, but
still have an easy-to-view record of what's been decided, so that new
contributors can get up to speed.
