Anyone interested in doing a presentation on Xastir? That's a bit
too far away and bad timing for me, not that I relish the idea of
presenting anyway.

Anyone can present. Deadline for presenters is coming up.

Subject: [aprssig] Sixth Annual APRS National Symposium

The Sixth Annual APRS National Symposium is less than 5 weeks away!

Once again TAPR will host this event as part of the Digital Communications
Conference. This year the conference will be in Denver on September 13 through
15th. This year the APRS Symposium will be more closely integrated with the
other portions of the DCC. More information about the DCC is available at
http://www.tapr.org/dcc

Once again, anyone is welcome to present in the Symposium, it is a wonderful
forum to share your ideas, results, and products. Past topics have included
updates on existing software and hardware, new APRS related development efforts,
new hardware (both the D7 and D700 were introduced at the DCC), ideas for future
development, and interesting applications of APRS. The audience is moderate in
size (generally around 100) and very interested in APRS, making for a
stress-free presentaion. (Only once has a mob actually attacked a presenter, but
you have my assurances it won't happen to you! ;-)

If you would like to be among the presenters, please email me with your name,
callsign, title of presentation, and length of time requested. If you have a
presentation you'd like to share, but you cannot be there in person, you might
consider having others (for example a fervent user of a software package) make a
presentation on your behalf. I'd be willing to give some presentations written
by others if desired, contact me directly if interested.

I need to hear from anyone interested in present in the next week, the deadline
will be Monday, August 19.

Even if you don't present, this is the place to grab the ear of one of the
developers, the atmosphere is much more relaxed than Dayton or other hamfests.
The atmosphere is collegial, and some very interesting discussions take place.
If you love APRS, you'll never have a better time than a DCC!
