I actually contacted the author about this (Jul 02, before he released 
the source code), and this was his reply:

If I had massive experience with UI code under linux, I would have 
offered to help... but there are people many times more qualified than 
me, and with the source now available, there is bound to be a definitive 
linux version some day.
