I'm just a little embarassed to say this:

1) I'm the one that has been working behind the scenes a bit to see
if the currently active developers were ready for a "stable" release
soon. I've been polling some of them regularly on this very issue.

2) I'm the one that put out a list of what I'd like to see solved
before a stable release occurs. We've just completed that list.

3) I'm also the one that just started implementing AGWPE support into
Xastir, and I'm not done with it yet (that's the embarassing part).

How about the answer that Jerry Pournelle always used to use in Byte
magazine: "Real Soon Now!".

I have TX/RX implemented, but the login/password packet is giving me
fits right now. Something is eating my 0x30 characters in that
packet, and I haven't figured out whether it's Xastir, the socket,
or the Windoze TCP/IP stack that is doing it. I want to get that
fixed and add support for user-defined paths for that interface, then
I _think_ we'll be ready for a feature freeze preceeding a stable
release. I'm hoping to have this stuff wrapped up by this weekend
sometime, perhaps earlier.
