Have you checked out the pocketAPRS format maps that Henk has done?
Those should work well and in fact require no extra map libraries to
be compiled into Xastir in order to use them.

You can also use the Ui-View maps easily by running the Perl
converter program in our scripts directory to convert the .INF files
to .GEO files.  Once you do that, Xastir knows how to use them.
