[Xastir] map not populating incoming data

Both of these things suggest to me that you're using an older version.
Older versions of Xastir considered the qAS codes invalid, and contained
that incorrect refrence in README- I fixed that in CVS a year ago, so
the copy you're using is very old.
I suggest you download either the latest developer release source code:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=45562&release_id=141295
or an updated debian package. Hamish Moffatt VK3SB <hamish at debian.org>
would be the best person to ask about that, and he is a list member.
