What operating system are u using. 

Red Hat 7.3

If this is your problem, I can send you a copy of my file and it should then

work.. if there are not other problems also....

My problem was what Curt WE7U stated. I thought I had the latest auroconf
and automake. I downloaded and compiled them and now 1.2.1 is compiling as I
type this.

Thanks to both of you for your guidance. Now I can keep up on the latest and
greatest. 

The first time, I made and installed as ROOT. This time, I am using a user
other than ROOT. I remember someone mentioning permissions with
/dev/ttyS1(mouse on /dev/ttyS0) with users other than ROOT. If I am correct,
what is required to resolve this?
