maybe a vb-script will be more appropriate???
most ui-view-ers are terrified of words like "Perl".

i think i have some C-code somewhere that does datum and format
conversions..... might be easy to modify and compile into a dos exe that
writes a .inf file.

can modern windows users still run dos apps??
