[Xastir] xastir no showing icons tracks etc on cygwin install

On a new clean install of cygwin & xastir from CVS sources in the last 24
hours
everything compiles cleanly no problems , but although view stations lists
correctly
i get no idents tracks or anything for that matter shown .

has anyone the same problem ?

or could someone email me directly a compiled xastir.exe that is known to
work fine
or alternatly i could also send my exe for test etc

this is now driving me mad , trying to locate the problem here
