Personally I run the Ximian desktop ( http://www.ximian.com ). Its an
extension to gnome and includes the Evolution email client (my main work
machine is RH9 + Ximian Desktop 2) The included RedCarpet program
handles various channels for keeping all the OS and such up to date.
Its free so the price is definitely right.
