[Xastir] cvs total failure!!

running (automake 1.7.6.1  and autoconf-2.57-5)  on 4 fresh downloads of cvs 
and 4 fresh installs of Linux mandrake 9.1 with the same failures for the 
past few days...

I give up and am going back to archived version of 1.1.4 xastir... it works.

Here is the same repetitious output on failure of the cvs versions:::
