[Xastir] 'Nother picky little request

The IO arrows that flash and change direction are useful and usually 
intuitively obvious when you go looking for connectivity issues. 
However, if you try to access your site via remote X or VNC, th traffic 
load on the updates skyrockets.

Would it be possible to add a compile-time switch that gives a green 
(apparently connected, no timeout), yellow (maybe connected, one 
timeout), red (aw, *!$@; more'n one timeout)?No flashing arrow, lots of 
useful info still available?

Or, some variation on the theme.
