Looking back through older e-mail, I found this from you:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Section "Module"
#prova di commento sui moduli per verificare i prob.di xastir:
#commentiamo:dbe,fbdevhw,glx,record;shape in subsection 14/07/2002
# Load "GLcore"
# Load "dbe"
# Load "fbdevhw"
# Load "dri"
        Load "glx"
# Load "record"
        Load "extmod"
#Subsection extensions module

     SubSection "extmod"
        Option "omit xfree86-dga"
# Option "omit shape"
Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device "SiS 6326"
        Monitor "Monitor0"
        DefaultDepth 16

        Subsection "Display"
                Depth 16
                Modes "1024x768"
        EndSubsection

EndSection
---------------------------------------------------------------------

So it looks like you had trouble with color depth of 16 but not with
24! Interesting to say the least. I run with color depth 16 and
don't have the trouble you described, even with the map that you
sent me. Anyone else seeing lots of lines across the screen with
DOS/winAPRS maps?
