I've had trouble with later versions of ImageMagick. I first
noticed this while trying to get the Cygwin instructions written.
I had to put a very old ImageMagick/Cygwin binary onto an ftp site
for people to snag because the single revision that they keep on the
ImageMagick download sites would never work, no matter what new
version they placed there. I was hoping that it was a temporary
problem and that they'd fix it in the release.

I'm also running a very old version here on this Linux box, which is
the ImageMagick that came with SuSE 7.3. Doing an RPM query, it
looks like I'm running ImageMagick-5.3.1.

So... I'm not sure whether ImageMagick broke something along the
way, or whether we failed to follow some critical API change in
ImageMagick, but that's where we stand. If anyone knows anything
further about how to get newer ImageMagick versions to work with
Xastir, please share it with the group.
