[Xastir] object question

My wife is on the way to visit me, so I've created an object on the map representing her car with a "guesitmated" speed and heading.  However, I saw the guess I took at her heading was a little off, so I tried to correct it.  I clicked on the dead reckoned icon (kinda faded looking), and selected MODIFY OBJECT.  When I changed the heading and pressed the modify button, the object went back to it's original location and started drifting with the new heading.  I had expected it to simply change course from it's updated location.  Is this desired behavior, or is it better as it is?
