[Xastir] problems after upgrade mdk9.1 to 9.2

I've managed to get the cvs version of xastir to compile in mdk 9.2, but
i'm still getting errors when loading maps:

xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/1M/1M_12_Wellington.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/1M/1M_13_Nelson.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/242Series/242_141_Waikanae.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/242Series/242_151_Wellington.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/242Series/242_162_Durville.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/242Series/242_173_Blenheim.jpg).
xastir: No decode delegate for this image format
(/usr/local/xastir/maps/242Series/242_183_Seddon.jpg).


configure show me this:
Building with AX25.......... : yes
Building with GDAL.......... : no
Building with GeoTiff....... : no
Building with ShapeLib...... : no
Building with pcre.......... : no
Building with ImageMagick... : yes
Building with Festival...... : no
Building with GPSMan........ : no
Building with dbfawk........ : no

any help is appreciated. even something obvious :)
