DIGI_NED *only* uses kernel AX.25 interfaces, so yes, you can share the 
same TNC with Xastir, DIGI_NED and other packet applications.

I'm not sure if Greg is running Linux, I could not deduce that from the 
original message. If there is no kernel AX.25 interfacing available 
DIGI_NED doesn't run.
