Hello Jim <K1ZC>,

    Thank you for the information. I copied and pasted your .bat file and
just for good measure re-installed the nasd files. There was a large
improvement in displaying the tiger maps with background colors showing now,
so I'm stepping forward in improving it's operation on this machine.....
but....  still no sound.
    I did remove the garbage and have the auplay standing on it's own
without the s/w switches being set. At this time, without the bash window, I
don't see if the same error is occurring or not.
    The .wav files are placed in the xastir/sounds directory so that
shouldn't be an issue unless I need to tell xastir where they are??
