Probably because the ones on my site are in NAD27 datum.  New maps
are typically in NAD83 datum, so you don't have to do a datum shift
for them for Xastir, which uses WGS84 (close enough to NAD83 that we
don't care).

This again points to your libraries.  Re-install them in the correct
order and try again.
