[Xastir] RH 9 configure: error: *** Cannot find X11 libraries: Please Install X-Windows ***

Hello, 
 
 I have never installed Xastir before. The install looked easy, I am
getting this error when I run configure "configure: error: *** Cannot
find X11 libraries:  Please Install X-Windows *** "I have X installed so
I guess configure is not finding the X11 libs where it expects it. 
 
 Any help please?
