Take a look at aprsworld.net. On the second paragraph of the front page you 
will see my stance on open source.

Most of the source code is there, and if there anything is missing or lacking 
documentation I'm always happy to help however I can. Of specific interest to 
you might be the parser that parses aprs packets and puts them in MySQL.

Friday at the Digital Communications Conference I will be making a 
presentation entitled "Integrating the aprsworld.net Database into Your 
Application". The notes will be available online sometime next week.
