[Xastir] sound files - locations

I've spent quite a few newbie hours on this one. Its perhaps simple,
but here is what I have so far.

1. Vplay -q This is seen on the Configure/Audio alarms settings. I
also noticed the list of preloaded .WAV files. I searched this RH9 box,
and of course they were not in it.

2. I found the files by searching for newmessage.wav and Xastir. I
downloaded a .tgz file and obtained the files.

3.Where are these suppose to go? I did more searching on the
web and found a SuSE site that had an earlier version of Xastir listed
(actually the listing of an RPM). Of course, the file structure isnt the
same. They had /usr/lib/xastir/sounds/newmessage.wav
No way. There isnt xastir after /usr/lib - I checked. It would appear
that there is /usr/local/bin but that only has Xastir exec file and
Callpass exec file in it. Perhaps add a sound directory there?

4. Perhaps the smartest thing to do, is to include the wav files in the
CVS download and or whatever method of delivery Xastir comes in. Might
as well, as you have to go get them and manually install them anyway.

5.I do have a (SOX) player called "play" on this RH9 box. If I am in a
terminal session, and type play newmessage.wav, it plays the file just
fine. Should I be able to replace vplay -q with play and make this work?
I've done this so far and nothing is happening. I took a stab at
the location of the wav files and put them in a sounds directory below
/src file. If thats wrong, please correct my location for me. Where else
should I've placed them? I've looked for several hours trying to find
out where Xastir expects to find these files with no joy.
