This is a summary of testing that Ron Cluster and I did between
Xastir and UI-View32 recently. It resulted in bugs being found in
both programs, some of which have been fixed in CVS Xastir already.
One of those fixes may not even be available on anonymouse CVS yet,
but it's in the developer's CVS already.

Tweaked to match the latest Xastir fixes. Old info discarded.

Summary, Xastir/UI-View32 Testing:
----------------------------------

1) Take over ownership and move the objects & items.

*) Objects: Can be traded back and forth.

*) Items: Xastir creates/manipulates them. UI-View32 can only
display them and it displays all as upper-case.

*) Compressed Objects: Xastir creates/manipulates them. UI-View32
displays them fine but if it takes them over they get transmitted as
non-compressed Objects.

*) Compressed Items: Xastir creates/manipulates them. UI-View32
displays them but can't manipulate them. UI-View32 also displays
them all as upper-case.

2) Create objects/items of varying case and have both clients
manipulate them properly, keeping the same case.

So far case doesn't appear to be a problem except that UI-View32
displays all Items with upper-case.

3) Change some parameter and have it show up at the other end. Do
the reverse scenario.

Looks good. Changes appear on each end of the link.

4) Test/show positioning accuracy of compressed vesus non-compressed
objects/items.

Place some compressed objects or items very close to each other,
then try to do the same for uncompressed objects.

5) Test with spaces in the name.

Looks good.

7) Test findu.com and aprsworld.net to see what they show.

*) Findu shows compressed objects ok.
shows uncompressed objects ok.
*) Findu doesn't show uncompressed items.
*) Findu doesn't show compressed items.
*) Findu has trouble with spaces in the name. Must remove them
to search for the object.
*) Findu appears to show things will all upper-case. Might not
differentiate between similarly named objects with different
case. Need to test this as well.
*) Aprsworld isn't showing any of them so far. Doesn't support
objects/items at all?

NOTES:
------
*) UI-View32 didn't see the wheelchair or snowmobile icons. Looks
like it needs some updates on the symbol set to match the current
spec.

*) Deleting objects: If Xastir deletes objects that UI-View32 owns,
UI-View32 won't recognize that and the objects will appear again the
next time the UI-View32 transmits. Xastir must adopt them by moving
them or changing some parameter before deleting them.

Xastir has been fixed so that it must adopt or modify an object/item
before it can delete it. Depending on whether the other end saw the
new live object and the timing of the object transmit from the
original owner, deleting the object/item from within Xastir may or
may not be permanent. The whole scenario may have to be tried again
until it takes.

*) Deleting items: UI-View32 doesn't appear to recognize the killed
Item format. After killing them with Xastir, they still stay on
UI-View32's screen.
