[Xastir] use D700 TNC for xastir and built-in APRS?

Here's the info from the Yahoo D700 forum. I haven't tested yet and won't
have time to until this weekend.

Connect the radio to a computer, load your terminal program (I use
HyperTerminal but any plain terminal program will work) then type:

AI 1 (easy to remember - All In 1)

Now when you put the radio into TNC mode it will pass GPS data through the
serial port. I think it will also pass GPS data in APRS mode as well.

To turn the feature off, I just turn the radio off. I do not know if there
is a software command that does the same thing.

Is there some way to use the D700 so that I can use the radio's
built-in APRS application and feed xastir the data at the same time?

It's OK if xastir is in a read-only mode, but it would be really nice
to share the TNC with both applications.
