[Xastir] no visible map display

.geo entries in map_index.sys are similar

running 1024x768, 32 bits color
Intel 82845G controler on a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop

Hmmm.  It's starting to sound like either wget or libcurl never got
called to download the maps from the 'net.

More things to check:  Are there entries for those .geo files in the
~/.xastir/config/map_index.sys file?  If so, what do those entries
look like?
