[Xastir] no visible map display

You can also start Xastir up in debug mode, or change the debug
level while it is running, and try to figure out at which stage it
is failing.

    (xastir -v2047 2>&1) | tee run.log

That way you'll see all of the messages in the xterm plus they'll
get written to file.
