[Xastir] Xastir, Cygwin and GPS/TNC

I wondering if I have a sync issue with my GPS. I cannot get Xastir to beacon
at the interval set in the Timing screen as well as can't get Smartbeaconing
to function (yes it's enabled :)).
I'm continuing to run Xastir with my Wi-Sys 7110. The 7110 is "similar" to the
KPC-3 with a few (well......) exceptions. I believe that the KPC-3 is looking
for a CTRL-E to retrieve the GPS data string. The Wi-Sys box just sends the
string every x seconds (set in their config software). I've set Xastir up as
a TNC with GPS on AUX port and things seem to work OK. The GPS Sats & Valid
field in the lower left hand corner shows valid, but only shows the number of
sats every few seconds or so. I'm not sure if this is normal (it may only
show that after the CTRL-E)? The track follows me just fine (which would
leave me to believe that the GPS data is being seen) but no beacons without
me actually clicking on the "transmit now" pull down...
I've also noticed Xastir output a message that says that the time has changed
and Xastir is sleeping, but I don't always see the message that says it
waking up... I've disabled everything I can think of that sets the clock and
I still see the message. Most of the time it says the system time jumped
backwards by 1139205177 seconds. It does this when I bring up the TNC
interface, even if there is nothing connected to the com port....?????
Ideas???
