Forwarding a few more messages between Michael and myself to the
list regarding his tigermap troubles. Hopefully others can pitch in
and help to resolve his problem.

There is a file in that directory called map.gif and running display map.gif
works great. However, all the other steps you wrote did not get Xastir to
display it.

Any additional ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

A few things to try:

Turn off Automaps.

Make sure you're only selecting tigermaps in the Map Chooser.

Make sure the timeout in File->Configure->Timing is set to max for
the tigermap loading.

You should see a map appear after some time. If the tigermap server
is timing out, you might not get an image from it.

You can check in ~/.xastir/tmp to see if you received an image
though. Perhaps you received it and ImageMagick isn't displaying it
properly within Xastir. Try using the "display filename" command
from the command-line to see if your installed ImageMagick can
display the file.

What might be happening is that you've got area fill turned on for
your other maps and they're obscuring the tigermap image below.
