Once you get the gmon.out file, you can also try adding the "-l"
flag to the gprof command-line.  That will show you line-by-line
what is using the CPU.

You might want to pipe the output to "less" or redirect it to a
file, as it is a long listing.

Be prepared to see gprof use a lot of CPU itself while trying to
compute that listing.  It takes a while.
