[Xastir] Adding offline maps?

Oooops, my stupidity again...  when making gdal, <make> took so long that I 
forgot to <make install>.
Configuring xastir, then of course it didn't capture gdal, then remembered 
that I forgot to <make install> gdal.
So I went back to <root> to <make install> gdal
Then I forgot to get out of <root> to configure xastir.
All is ok now....  put my head in a vise....

Had to do a ldconfig also to get the gdal libs to work.
Now to the maps....
