However, it doesn't look as nice on some platforms (minor issue I
know), plus it doesn't allow porting to some platforms that use Qt
or Qtopia only, with no other graphical system, like a Sharp Zaurus
PDA or other small devices.

To be fair, I'd also rather stick to open-source stuff, instead of
tying things to a company, but unless we can do a couple of
different GUI's, I might have to put my porting efforts into Qt.  I
have a Qtopia device I can play with at present.

Another possibility is WxWidgets.  Actually I found a link to lots
of possibilities the other day:

I think most of these are useless, but it's the most complete
listing of cross-platform GUI toolkits I've seen.
