[Xastir] Font Issues

I keep seeing things like this after typing xastir &
in X term. AN they just continue to display. Could be
hundreds or even thousands per day (not really sure
they just keep scrolling in the term window). It seems
to correspond with the APRS data TNC or Net:

Now this look like I'm missing something relating to a
font that Xastir is trying to use...???? When I open
the Packet Display Data Window, I see the immediate
data appear, but anything else shows up as blank. All
that happens is the CR scrolls the screen up, but no
text is displayed... Any ideas on what I'm missing?
