[Xastir] imagemagick and a new question from readme.cvs

I have now installed xlibs-dev using Kpackage.  

I am making notes and will contribute a brief write up when I am done.  This 
may help others when using MEPIS for the first time.

Given the issues that have arisen surrounding imagemagic I wonder if there is 
a preference between these packages / versions.

If I am correct and this version of imagemagic is ok my next step using the 
instructions in README.CVS is to re-run 

./bootstrap.sh
./configure
Then I get confused at the line 

(make clean;make -j3 2>&1 | tee make.log

is all this including the ( entered as shown?
