That's one of MY favorite phrases... Thief!

There's another ligher-weight version of Festival, can't remember
the name of it, but we could perhaps integrate support for that into
Xastir as well, if it's easier to compile/install.  I think Ken,
n7ipb, already did that at one point, so perhaps he still has his
patches around that we could look at in order to port it again.

Oh yea, I think it is called Flite, for Festival Light.
