[Xastir] TM-D700A with a Mac

I'm setting up my first mobile tracking station to do balloon chases. I have 
a Mac iBook and use Xastir all the time via the Internet, now I want to get 
the Kenwood TM-D700A but before I drop that much money I want to make sure 
the three peaces will work together. Does anyone out there use this 
combination and what should I look out for or what problems might I run 
into? I wouldn't mind hearing about success's either, it's always nice to 
hear what went right.
