Downloaded the xastir CVS.
Hacked on libgpsd_core.c a bit....on the output sentence strings

Running 1023 debug....

Position is correct now. The leading zero had to be added to the 
longitude on GGA and RMC.

I guess that the leading zero has to be there to process the string.

Now for the C wiz's: I used 0%8.4f to supply the leading zero. I doubt 
this is correct. What would be correct to make 88.0102 print out as 
088.0102?
