[Xastir] Upgrading Xastir?

I think the README.cvs file covers the subject well. it is in the
xastir directory if you downloaded the source and compiled it.
otherwise it is available on line in the documentation portion of the
xastir website. You will probably want to remove xastir first if you
used apt-get to install it. Then you can download the source using
CVS and compile xastir.
I am still hesitant to use cvs with other products because their
documentation on how to best use cvs with their product is lacking.
With Xastir the README.cvs gives you a pretty good step-by-step
instruction guide. CVS is the only way I update my xastir now and it
insures that my version of xastir is probably not more than 4 hours
out of date. If I read about a fix on the list I know that about 4
hours later I can do a cvs update, ./bootstrap.sh, ./configure, make,
sudo make install, and I will have the latest version of xastir. With
my new MacBook this takes less then 5 minutes. On my Mac mini it
takes about 15 minutes and in my linux machines it takes about 20-40
minutes. I think my fastest linux machine is a 1GHz Athelon.
