[Xastir] Xastir on Virtual PC

With a lot of help from Curt, I have Xastir 1.8.5 running in MS Virtual PC
2004. I am using SUse 10.1 and have
AX25,ImageMagick,libproj,GeoTiff,Shapelib,PRCE,dbfawk libraries installed. 

Next on my list is to redirect a serial port on another machine running SUse
9.1 and remserial to the Virtual PC. Settings in Vpc allow for a com port to
a pipename. A valid pipe name has the form "\\<ServerName>\pipe\<PipeName>".
I don't understand how to connect the two machines.

I haven't tried to install remserial on the Vpc maybe that's the answer?

Can someone point me to some sources to learn how to make this connection?
