Perhaps we could make a "modified" subdirectory on whatever server
to designate that they are not the originals.

The Wiki page with map pointers allows us to have maps in lots of
different places, but it's nice to have most of one type on one
server as well.  I'd suggest uploading them to Gerry's server but
keeping them on yours as well so that we have two sites available,
at least for those few maps.  If you continue to have the room for
them of course.

I have a few GNIS files but not any of the ones requested:

  /usr/local/share/xastir/GNIS> ls
  CA.gnis  ID.gnis  NM-2.gnis  OR.gnis      USA.geocode.bz2  WA.gnis
  HI.gnis  MT.gnis  NM.gnis    placeholder  WA.geocode

I could compress and upload them somewhere if they might be useful.
