[Xastir] Cygwin update

Hello everyone!  
 
As usual, I come to you with hat in hand, hoping you can get through my
current dilemma.
 
I had been running Xastir successfully for quite some time, about a year.  I
decided to try some updating. As I have mentioned here before, I'm not much
of a programmer.
 
After performing the setup.exe at cygwin and supposedly updating to
6.8.2.0(202), I cannot start Xastir.  I type in "Xastir &" in the bash
window, but Xastir never starts.
If no one has any suggestions such as a path change or file name change or
version difference, I figure I will have to wipe cygwin and start again.
Are there any recommendations on how to do that without having to follow the
whole readme.win32 instructions all over again?
