Are you using the proper startup/stop files for your TNC?  You set
them in the Interface Properties dialog for each TNC interface.

The files are in the /usr/local/share/xastir/config/ directory, to
see which ones are currently available.  You may be using the
generic "tnc-startup.sys" and "tnc-stop.sys" files right now, which
may not work for your TNC.
