[Xastir] www.xastir.org "User Support Forum" again

Gang:

Anyone here use UI-View maps with xastir?  About all I know about that is
that you need to convert .inf files to .geo somehow.

There's someone who has repeatedly been posting to the "User Support" forum
on the xastir web page asking about that, but getting nothing.  If anyone
can help him out, you might want to pop over and post.

I gotta say, I really am even more convinced that the web-based "User Support"
forum is worse than useless --- nobody with answers seems to read it, and
every few weeks someone posts to it desperate for answers.  Chuck posted a 
sticky message on that forum directing users here for faster (or any) response,
but nobody apparently reads it, as the questions keep rolling in.  I've even
answered a few messages there with pointers to the mailing list, but it doesn't
seem to help.

I'd like to suggest that having a web-based forum that nobody but frustrated
users reads is counterproductive, and makes the project look bad.  Unless there
are knowledgable users who want to hang out there and answer questions, I'd
highly recommend that it be closed to posting, and users told that the only
path to help with xastir is this mailing list.  I know I've suggested that
before, but with people continuing to experience a black hole labeled "User 
Support" I think it's time to make a change.
