MANY thanks to both Bobs (N7XY and KD7NM) for their insight and history
help.

Using the control command:

  TC1

Followed on a new line with:

  *

Helped BIG time to get me up and running.  

Currently, I've just got the radio's receive tied in to the HK232.  I
wanted to see how this thing behaved before polluting the rf with my
errors...

Now to work on the maps (nothing is displayed currently).  Murry (VE9MB)
will likely beat me to the finish line on that...

I suspect that tnc-startup.aea might be more appropriate, since the  
HK232 is really a PK232 in disguise.
